Inner peace made to order
Guided meditation by Headspace is aimed at people looking for greater inner peace and more vital energy. Headspace offers hundreds of methods for relaxation.
Do you feel like life is getting ahead of you? Are you rushing around without really taking the time to wind down? Regardless of whether you count yourself among the first group, failing to keep up with what is going on around you, or among the second group, tackling challenge after challenge like a soldier, the result is often the same: an endless lack of inner peace. Without a change in lifestyle, this can lead to countless problems and unpleasant situations in life.
More than ever, it is important to slow down, take a deep breath, and find peace, for instance, through meditation.
It turns out that meditation is a very effective way to establish inner balance. Thousands of studies have shown that meditating regularly has a positive effect on mental and physical health, as it relieves stress, improves sleep, and strengthens focus, thus improving personal satisfaction and contributing to better relationships.
For €72 per year – or €10 per month, if you prefer a monthly subscription – Headspace leads you into the world of meditation.
Andy Puddicombe and Rich Person were well aware of that when they designed Headspace, a meditation app. Each of them approached meditation from a different angle. Andy spent a number of years learning various meditation techniques. After many years of training, he was ordained as a monk at a Tibetan monastery in the Indian part of the Himalayas. Later, he focused on guided meditation practice for politicians, businesspeople, and athletes. Meanwhile, Rich was on the other side, turning to meditation (under Andy’s guidance) to deal with stress. When their paths met, Headspace was born.
The app is designed to harmonise the pace of your life with the daily ritual of meditation in a simple way. All you need is a few minutes’ peace, and the app, which will guide you through your meditation with a series of recordings.
The essentials can be learnt for free, but if you want to take it to the next level, there are three subscriptions to choose from. The first is an annual subscription of €72, billed as one payment. If you prefer to pay on a month-to-month basis, you can choose the monthly subscription, which comes in at €10. There is also a monthly family plan with six accounts for €15.
Each subscription gives you access to hundreds of meditations with various levels of difficulty, as well as themed meditations such as health, courage, happiness, work, studies, sports, etc.
There are advanced meditations for experienced users, as well as simple activities for children under 5. Each section includes various topics that you can focus on more intensively, such as anxiety, stress, sleep, anger, concentration, pain, productivity, motivation, balance, grief, self-respect, etc.
On top of that, a new meditation is delivered to you every morning. Also available are super-short meditations for busy schedules, giving you the opportunity to catch a breath or two, relax, and recharge your batteries. The app also offers a range of animations to guide you through meditation and answer any questions that might arise during your search for balance.
The meditation and relaxation app with a subscription model is now used by millions of people from over 190 countries.
At Headspace, they stress that meditation is not intended to clear space in your head by getting rid of your thoughts and feelings. Instead, they simply want to teach you to observe them without judging them, thus eventually coming to understand them better.
Inner peace lives in all of us. Unfortunately, it is pretty fond of playing hide-and-seek, tending to burrow into the deepest corners of our brain and making it seem like it is almost impossible to find. But there is a way.
Actually, there are several ways, but meditation is the one that is sure to lead you there. Headspace subscriptions have been showing us this way for almost a decade now. The app has millions of users from over 190 countries, testifying to the fact that meditation is a tried and tested choice.
