The teas are loose leaf teas, which means that you can choose the quantity which affects the intensity of the taste yourself, as the dried leaves or buds are not packed in tea bags. Instead, Simple Loose Leaf has decided to pack its teas in practical resealable pouches, preventing the tea from losing its aroma once opened. The box also contains four reusable linen tea filters.
You can pay for the box of teas which arrives to your kitchen every month on a monthly basis, or choose a three-, six-, or twelve-month subscription. With a six-month subscription, you save $3, and with an annual subscription, $12. Regardless of the subscription type, it is payable immediately as a one-off payment. Postage costs need to be added to the price of the box, i.e. $3 in the USA and $9.50 in Canada.
Simple Loose Leaf also offers an online tea shop, where you can buy different tea varieties in the quantity of your choice.
You cannot customise your tea box, and there is a specific reason behind this decision. Simple Loose Leaf is a family business run by two brothers and a sister. Their business objectives include employing people with disabilities from their community. This good cause comes at the price of the boxes having to be as simple as possible.
